In an effort to broaden the reach of its facilitative problem-solving mission and to identify and implement sustainable solutions providing unity, focus and choice for the betterment of society, the Engineering Society of Detroit Institute in 2009 established its Global Advisory Council (GAC) currently chaired by Kamesh Gupta, P.E., C.E.M.

The purpose of the GAC is to bring together independent strategic, global thinkers to provide inputs to the ESD Institute regarding potential resources, peer review references, expertise, critical areas of inquiry and subjects for future symposia. The GAC meets twice a year and is made up of leaders from both the public and private sectors from around the world.
