Consensus Action Report: City of Detroit, Detroit Water & Sewerage Department, Waste Water Treatment Plant
THE ROAD TO COMPLIANCE AND BEYOND

The Engineering Society of Detroit and its Institute was asked in 2010 by the City of Detroit to undertake an independent evaluation of the operations of the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department's Waste Water Treatment Plant. Two reports--the Consensus Action Report and the Corrective Action Plan--were generated over a three-month period. This work provides a roadmap for regulatory compliance and the optimization of operations. Importantly, we set forth a long-term capitalization plan that provides significant cost reductions by $200 Million through a No-Incineration Green Option.
