Darlene J. Trudell, Executive Vice President of The Engineering Society of Detroit, has been an association leader for over 25 years. Her areas of expertise include strategic planning, new venture development, marketing analysis, and implementation of association programs such as membership recruitment/retention and educational programs. Additionally, Ms. Trudell has managed and directed national conventions and conferences, developed two highly successful trade shows and three well-respected professional publications.
Ms. Trudell is past chair of the Michigan Society of Association Executives and past chair of MSAE Awards Committee. She also is a member of the City of Southfield Zoning Board of Appeals and the American Society of Association Executives and is a board member of the Skyline Club. She has served on many community committees, including the Governor’s task forces.
Ms. Trudell is a Certified Association Executive, and holds a BS from Wayne State University and an MSA, Graduate Program in Administration, from Central Michigan University. Her experience includes 5 years as the Executive Vice President for The Engineering Society of Detroit, 5 years as the Executive Director of the Building Owners and Managers Association of Metro Detroit and 13 years as the Vice President of Corporate Relations for the American Academy of Medical Administrators.
In 2008 she was awarded the Michigan Society of Association Executives Key Award, in 2007 identified by Crain’s Business Detroit as one of Metro Detroit’s most influential women and in 2002 awarded the Michigan Society of Association Executives Gavel Award. |
